About Me

Graduated from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration with a Doctor of Social Science in Political Science, I am interested in working for an intergovernmental organisation in making sure that local elections in developing countries are conducted transparently to meet international standards. I am also open to talk-shows to talk about my experience researching in a developing country in Africa, and generally to have that conversation about local and national elections in developing countries.
I am both a British citizen and a citizen of Hong Kong, and I live in Africa, Ghana. My PhD looked at 'How Electioneering Campaigns are Developed in Developing Countries'. Politics in Africa is intense and a lot of resources are put in. In trying to integrate Western political democracy into what is known as African democracy, has unearthed different cultural and institutional formations that play-in in the elections. That has made me to study the African political systems and how they have advanced since most of the African countries got their independence from Europe.

PhD Title: How Electioneering Campaigns are Developed in Developing Countries
This PhD investigated the development of electioneering campaigns in four developing countries in West Africa, namely Ghana (Anglophone), Togo (Francophone), Nigeria (Anglophone) and Cameroon (Francophone). Focus group meetings were conducted with political grassroots and national party members across the sampled countries. In each country, intense political activities were identified, especially in the run-off to the elections. A lot of resources are put in during elections. The research found that trying to integrate Western political democracy into what is known as African democracy, brought about cultural and institutional fractures that play-in in the elections. The research also found that while violence persisted in local and national elections among party groups, the advancement of the mish-mashed new African democracy is creating a new awakening in African democracy. This new change or a new political wave intends to dismantle the status quo and it is powered by the millennials in the case study countries.
